A panchromatic black and white film that FILM Ferrania revived from the P30 cinema formula it made in the 1960s.
Pasolini, Rossellini, Visconti and other Italian directors shot on the original stock. The revived emulsion is coated on triacetate and carries 5 grams of silver per square meter.
It is known for strong contrast and very fine grain.
Shadows come out inky and clean while keeping their detail, with bright midtones and restrained highlights.
Ferrania first released it in 2017 as an alpha, to be improved on user feedback, and announced the final version in December 2019.
