Fujifilm's specification page puts it on a cellulose triacetate base and rates its resolving power at 125 lines/mm at 1000:1 contrast, alongside the wide latitude and fine grain the company claims for the line.
It replaced Superia X-TRA 400, which Fujifilm Japan discontinued in April 2024.
Labs and reviewers widely hold that the version sold in the US is made for Fujifilm by Kodak and is close to UltraMax 400. Fujifilm does not confirm it, so it is a well-supported report rather than an established fact.
