Kodak's high-speed consumer color emulsion, now sold loaded into single-use cameras rather than as a roll.
Kodak no longer sells this emulsion as a boxed 35mm roll. It lives inside the FunSaver and Kodak's other single-use bodies, and the developed strip is edge-marked GT 800 followed by a generation number, such as GT 800-5. Earlier boxed 800 speed Kodak consumer rolls (Gold Max 800, Max 800) do turn up as expired stock, but a fresh roll sold as Gold 800 is almost always film harvested out of a single-use camera.
Kodak sells it on holding the color and detail of a slower film at a speed that works in mixed and low light, with skin tones kept accurate.
It is grainier than the slower Gold films, which is the trade, and it holds color under artificial light better than most daylight-balanced stock this fast.
