Kodak's daylight balanced 250 speed motion picture negative, catalog number 5207. It has a remjet backing, so it needs ECN-2 processing, not C-41. A lot of labs won't touch it, so check before you send it. Very flat and very forgiving, built to be graded rather than viewed straight. Fine grain for the speed, clean skin tones, soft highlight rolloff. Straight scans look washed out on purpose, since in its intended use a colorist handles every frame. Great if you enjoy grading, less great if you want something finished out of the lab. With the remjet intact you don't get the red halation Cinestill is known for. Same emulsion family, but Cinestill strips the remjet and that's where the halos come from.
